Please be assured your personal information is kept strictly confidential as your privacy is very important to Terasa M. Marshall, CPA (the firm).   As a Certified Public Accounting firm, the highest level of professional ethical responsibility is adhered to for the protection of clients’ confidential information.

This privacy policy outlines how your personal data is collected, used, stored, and protected, and your rights concerning this data

1. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Personal confidential information will not be disclosed to any unaffiliated third party without your consent, except as permitted by law and as follows: 

  • To comply with a validly issued and enforceable subpoena or summons.

  • In the course of a review of the firm’s practices under the authorization of a state or national licensing board, or as necessary to properly respond to an inquiry or complaint from such a licensing board or organization.

  • As a part of any actual or threatened legal proceedings or alternative dispute resolution proceedings either initiated by or against the firm, provided the disclosure is limited to only the information necessary to file, pursue, or defend against the lawsuit and take reasonable precautions to ensure that the information disclosed does not become a matter of public record.

  • Information collected, as described above may be shared with nonaffiliated third parties that perform other support and marketing services on the firm’s behalf, such as outside data processing, secretarial services and mailings.  For your protection, agreements with such individuals or entities are required for compliance with this policy of keeping your personal information in the strictest of confidence.

  • SMS Program: If you opt into the firm’s SMS program, messages will be sent regarding the firm’s services, updates, and policies. You will receive messages about product updates, service and notifications. You can opt-out at any time.

  • Service Provision: To perform the contract about to be entered into or have entered into with you.

  • Marketing and Communications: To send you marketing materials and communicate with you about the firm’s services.

  • SMS: Replying "STOP" to any SMS message you receive from the firm. Email: Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email you receive from the firm.

  • Account Settings: Updating your preferences in your account settings on the firm’s website.

  • The firm’s SMS program provides updates, notifications, and promotional messages related to the firm’s services. By subscribing to the firm’s SMS program, you consent to receive SMS messages at the phone number provided. Message frequency may vary based on your interaction with the firm’s service.

  • Your mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Additionally, all the categories of personal data mentioned above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. This information will not be shared with any third parties under any circumstances. However, we may share your data with trusted service providers who assist the firm in operating the firm’s SMS program, provided they agree to keep your data confidential and use it solely for the purpose of providing services on the firm’s behalf.

  • You have the right to access, correct, verify, or remove your personal information at any time. To manage your information, please contact the firm at 978-867-7420.

  • Opt-Out Option: If you wish to opt-out of receiving SMS messages, you may do so at any time by replying "STOP" to any of the firm’s messages or by contacting the firm directly at 978-867-7420.

  • Opting out will not affect your other interactions with the firm’s services.

 8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Statement may be changed from time to time when necessary to reflect changes in the firm’s Services, how personal information is used, or the applicable law. If changes are made, the “Last Updated” date will be reported at the bottom of the statement. If material changes are made, you will be provided with notice or obtain consent regarding such changes as may be required by law. You are encouraged to review the Privacy Statement whenever you access the Services or otherwise interact with the firm to stay informed about the privacy practices and the ways in which you can exercise choice over these practices. The practices described in this Privacy Statement are subject to applicable laws in the locations in which we operate.

 

As required, this firm complies with Massachusetts laws, MGL c.214, s.1B, Right of Privacy, as well as Massachusetts regulations,940 CMR 27, Safeguard of Personal Information.
